Be sure to take a look at the ceiling when you’re inside. I didn’t know Grand Central had a painted turquoise ceiling until I saw it up close, and it’s become my top favorite thing about the building.
When you’re starving, consider going into the famous and gorgeous Grand Central Oyster Bar while you’re there.
New York Public Library (Central Branch)
The Central Branch of the New York Public Library, Famously protected by its majestic Lion statues, is a must-visit for anyone who is a bibliophile and looking for activities to enjoy in Midtown.
Make sure to look around the Rose Reading Room while you’re in the area. It’s one of the top activities for free during your stay in New York.

Morgan Library & Museum
It was first established through Pierpont Morgan (think J.P. Morgan Chase Bank). The Morgan Library & Museum is very accessible to access while visiting Midtown and is stunning.
The museum is just one short stroll away from Grand Central Terminal, and apart from its beautiful library, it regularly has interesting exhibits.
The admission fee is high, however, at certain times of the week, it transforms into one of the free museums in NYC, which is the ideal time to go.
Koreatown
A lot smaller than the famous Chinatown, however, it is a blast to explore; Koreatown is packed full of tasty restaurants and entertaining Karaoke bars.
