We’ve had several customers ask for recommendations for activities to enjoy in New York City in the rain or snow. Would you please let us know if you know of other indoor activities in NYC?
Here is the list of Things To Do In New York When It Rains:
NYC ESCAPE ROOMS
Gather a group of your friends together to see how great your teamwork can be in Escape rooms. We’ve had a total of nine and have scored them from top to the worst. It’s one of our favorite activities in NYC during a rainy day and when the weather is too cold for exploring outside.
PLAY WITH CATS AT A CAT CAFE
If you’re looking for activities to do inside in NYC, then why not spend time in the company of your furry companions at a cat café while you’re there?
We went to Koneko (Lower East Side), the first American Japanese cat-friendly cafe. 18 cats can be adopted and serve Japanese-inspired food with wine, beer, and sake. If you’re located in Brooklyn, go to their Brooklyn Cat Cafe.
AFTERNOON TEA OR HIGH TEA
If you’re searching for an elegant option to relax for an hour, consider having the afternoon tea experience at The Plaza Hotel. It’s among the most well-known New York attractions and was my most memorable afternoon tea experience so far. There are other options, including The Russian Tea Room and the Ritz Central Park, Carlton.
SPEND THE DAY AT A COFFEE SHOP
If you’re looking for indoor activities that are fun close to me, try the nearest coffee shop. It’s likely to be easy to locate one close to you, which is a fantastic thing to do during an overcast New York City day.
Have a hot cup of coffee, grab an ebook, or talk with your fellow mates. Coffee Project in East Village offers great nitro coffee, and you can turn it into enjoyable by ordering the deconstructed latte or even a nitro flight.
CHEER ON AN ICONIC FRANCHISE
NYC is home to one of the most famous sports teams, like, for instance, the New York Knicks (or across town, cheering for Brooklyn Nets is one of the top indoor activities that you could do within Brooklyn). Enjoy a game and keep warm.
While hockey isn’t the ideal option for those looking to escape the cold, you could take a look at the New York Rangers.
ROCK CLIMB AT ONE OF THE TOP GYMS IN AMERICA
Rock climbing is a booming sport, and some of the best climbing gyms are located in New York.
We enjoy checking out different gyms as we travel. Brooklyn Boulders, by far, had one of the most innovative and enjoyable routes we’ve ever seen. When we decided to relocate to NY, we were so impressed that we chose the apartment we wanted to live in close to their Queensbridge location.
It’s a shared workspace so that you can use your laptop there, too. In terms of indoor activities in NYC, we likely spent most of our time in The climbing center.
BURY YOUR NOSE IN A BOOK
Visit the New York Public Library, the Strand Bookstore, and Housing Work Bookstore Cafe to purchase an upcoming book or browse magazines. It’s possible to spend hours at these locations, and it’s the perfect place to spend time with your family in New York in the rain.
HAVE A SPA DAY
If you’re staying in the house, you may like to pamper yourself with a spa treatment at Aire Ancient Baths, the Great Jones Spa, or any of the luxury hotels in NYC that offer spas.
